NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - The search for a nonverbal, 12-year-old boy missing from his New Orleans East home stretched into its third day Sunday (Aug. 17), though with fewer resources continuing the hunt.
The New Orleans Police Department said Sunday it had “scaled down” the number of “active field resources” in the search for Bryan Vasquez. But the department asked the public to continue checking exterior home cameras, backyard sheds and other outdoor locations where the boy might be seen or sheltering.
“The public’s assistance remains crucial,” the NOPD said in a statement announcing the investigation now will be headed by Special Victims Division detective Mario Bravo, “a certified interpreter, who has experience in the recovery of missing and exploited children.”
