Thunderstorm chances return tonight as temperatures look to stay hot into next week, but a cool down could be on the way

HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - Good Evening! It was another hot and humid day today with temperatures in the 90’s. We had a few showers and storms moving through north central Nebraska earlier today. More thunderstorm development is expected this evening across northwestern Nebraska. Those will continue to move east southeast into the overnight hours. There is a marginal risk in place today as a few storms could be on the stronger side. Storms are expected to move southeast through eastern and central Nebraska into tomorrow morning. Temperatures tonight drop into the 60’s to the west with a low of 64 in North Platte.
