Kauai Fire Department crews extinguished a quarter-acre brush fire at an encampment on a hillside near Ahukini Landing on Saturday evening.
No injuries were reported.
The fire was reported around 6:10 p.m. and involved trash and brush at the campsite, officials said in an email.
Crews from the Lihue Fire Station, Rescue 3, Tanker 1, Aircraft rescue and firefighters and the on-duty battalion chief responded.
The blaze was brought under control within 10 minutes and fully extinguished shortly after using about 4,000 gallons of water.
Firefighters cleared the scene by 7:35 p.m. The cause remains undetermined.
