CHARLOTTE, NC (KBTX) - In a release, Carolina Panthers announced Linebacker Nic Scourton is “week-to-week” after suffering a collapsed lung in a joint practice on Thursday.

After being checked by Panthers medial staff it was realized that the injury was more than heat to which Scourton was taken to a nearby hospital where he spent Thursday night.

“It was presenting like a heat exhaustion, because he was having trouble breathing,” said Panthers Head Coach Dave Canales. “He was getting tired and all that, so we kind of cooled him down we couldn’t get him to respond good enough to where we felt comfortable about putting him back into practice.”
