STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Erik Carter, 39, a longtime Staten Islander and devoted father of six, died Tuesday while visiting friends in Florida . He was doing what he loved — riding his motorcycle.
Born and raised in the Bronx, Carter moved to Stapleton when he was around 10 years old. At the time of his passing, he resided in West Brighton with his wife of 16 years, Nicole Damato, and the couple’s children.
Carter was known for his diverse skills in landscaping and construction, as well as his outgoing personality and ability to make others laugh.
“He was the most loving person you could meet,” his wife told the Advance/SILive.com. “He would give you the shirt off his back.”
