FARGO — The bid for a fourth consecutive win and a series sweep fell just short for the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks on Sunday.

The RedHawks cut a three-run deficit down to one in the ninth inning, but were unable to complete the comeback as Cleburne held on for a 6-5 American Association baseball win in the series finale before 2,656 fans at Newman Outdoor Field.

After early afternoon rainfall delayed first pitch by more than 60 minutes, the two teams remained scoreless until the fourth inning when the Railroaders took a 2-0 lead.

F-M got one back in the home half of the fourth and later proceeded to take the lead in the sixth thanks to the bat of Hunter Clanin.

With two on and two outs, Clanin recorded a base knock to left field that brought Michael Hallquist around to score from second.
