VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — The Surfers Healing camp for children diagnosed with autism and other developmental disabilities took place this weekend in Virginia Beach.

Izzy and Danielle Paskowitz started Surfers Healing in California in 1996. Their son Isaiah has autism, and Izzy discovered early on that his son responded well to the ocean.

The organization recently celebrated its 20th year of holding the Surfers Healing camp in Virginia Beach, and it's now a two-day event that helps over 400 children with the help of professional surfers from all over the world.
