EUGENE, Ore. – The Cascades Raptor Center recently acquired two baby owls that are only two months old. A baby Snowy Owl and baby Northern Hawk Owl will be joining the raptor centers education team.
The fledglings are so young that they don't have names yet.
“So we have acquired two brand new babies this year to join our education team,” Sidney Campbell, ambassador curator at the Cascades Raptor Center, said. “We have a baby northern hawk owl who hatched on June 23 and a baby snowy owl who hatched on June 12.”
The gender is currently unknown for the snowy owl, but staff said the northern hawk owl is a female.
Both fledglings were bred to be in an environment like the raptors center.
