RCMP in Rimbey are searching for a missing horse named Hank who was taken after a dispute between the horse’s owner and a stable owner, who has been charged with theft over $5,000.

In a phone interview with Postmedia on Friday, Morgan Tkachuk, who lives in Wildwood, roughly 120 kilometres west of Edmonton, said she and her father had five horses boarded at the stable owner’s property in Ponoka County, south of Edmonton.

Tkachuk said she and the stable owner have had a long-standing working relationship until a fallout over the bill for preparing one of her other horses, Ken, for sale on June 21.

“The day of the sale she … said ‘I’m keeping your horse Hank until you pay me the money you owe me,’ ” said Tkachuk.
