OBERLIN, La. (KPLC) - Oberlin Varsity football is entering this season with only 15 varsity players, Allen Parish School Board officials say, putting their varsity season in jeopardy.
“You know like my dream is to go play pro one day. You know, hopefully it happens, you never know but you know with the situation that’s going on now I wonder if my dreams are coming to an end,” said Oberlin player Jayden Bokemeyer.
Oberlin football boosters invited players, parents and die hard fans to a meeting Sunday to discuss possible solutions.
“I feel like there are so many factors that play into this but I also feel like we need to pull together as a community and there’s a process to everything we need to first be able to have a team to fight for,” said Booster member Rhiannon Restivo.
