NEW ORLEANS, La. (KLFY) -- The Saints entered Sunday's second preseason contest against Jacksonville hoping their ongoing quarterback competition would become easier to navigate following the game. Instead, the competition is beginning to heat up even more as New Orleans would come from behind to tie the Jacksonville Jaguars 17-17.
Rookie quarterback Tyler Shough got his first start for the black and gold but was unable to put a touchdown on the board. The Louisville product would complete 9/12 passes for 66 yards before his day was complete at the end of the first half. Spencer Rattler would enter in the second half and finished the day going 18/24 for 199 yards, 1 touchdown, 1 interception and a game-tying 2-point conversion.
