PORTLAND Ore. (KPTV) - An apartment fire in northwest Portland left two people and a firefighter injured on Sunday morning, according to Portland Fire & Rescue.
Around 9 a.m., Portland Fire & Rescue crews responded to the fire on Northwest 23rd. When firefighters arrived, they realized a person was trapped in the building.
Crews were able to reach the person and carried them out of an apartment window.
The person was rushed to the hospital, suffering from burns and smoke inhalation. They’re in serious condition in the burn center at Emanuel Hospital.
A firefighter and another person who lived in the apartment were also hurt, but are expected to be OK.
However, a dog and a cat died in the fire.
Fire officials say three people were displaced.
