GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) - Monday is a busy day. With the University of Florida Board of Trustees meeting to talk about what to do about a leadership vacuum at the top, Interim President Kent Fuchs’ last day is August 31.

Also on Monday, a court hearing is set in Columbia County for Jayden Burch, accused of killing 12 year old Mariah Smith in a drive by shooting in 2023. His lawyers are now ready to provide an alibi for him, and jury selection is now scheduled for August 25.
