LAKE COUNTY, Ohio (WOIO) - A Madison man accused of driving drunk and killing a cyclist on a motorized bicycle, has a change of plea hearing in Lake County Court of Common Pleas Monday.
Justin Hanusosky is charged with OVI, aggravated vehicular homicide, and failure to stop after an accident.
Madison Township Police said, Mark Mitchell, 64, of Madison, was traveling east bound on S. Ridge Road on Nov. 23, 2024 when he was struck from behind by Hanusosky’s vehicle.
Mitchell was thrown from his bike and Hanusosky allegedly fled the scene.
According to police, Mitchell died from his injuries at a local hospital on Nov. 25, 2024.
According to the police report, Hanusosky looked down at his speedometer and swerved off the road before the accident.
