Weather alerts active in South Jersey amidst Hurricane Erin

Amidst Hurricane Erin , a slew of weather alerts have been issued.

Although the hurricane has yet to directly affect New Jersey , many weather alerts have popped up for South Jersey along the shoreline and in the Atlantic Ocean waters.

Coastal flood advisory in Cape May

Early the morning of Aug. 18, the National Weather Service, aka NWS, issued a coastal flood advisory for Cape May County. The advisory is to become active at 4 p.m. Aug. 18 and remain valid until 10 p.m.

Up to one foot of inundation above ground level is expected in low-laying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways, according to NWS.
