FLOYD COUNTY, Ky. (WYMT) - There is a heavy police presence on Route 979 in the Harold area of Floyd County.

According to a post on Facebook, deputies with the sheriff’s office said it is near a Dollar General due to an active law enforcement related incident.

Deputies with the sheriff’s office told WYMT the situation stems from a traffic stop that occurred Sunday night.

Sheriff John Hunt says Kentucky State Police troopers and deputies with the Floyd County Sheriff’s office answered a call about a reckless driver who had a passenger in the vehicle.

The driver fled on foot late last night and a call came in Monday morning and said the driver was located in the Harold Dollar General parking lot.
