Darryl Kennedy committed his first crime at the age of just nine years old and since then claims to have stolen from 20,000 homes over the course of 50 years.

Now 62, and after four stints in prison, with the latest being five years long, the ex-thief decided it was time for a change, and he says he deeply regrets the path he took.

Over the course of his criminal career, he focused on the homes of the rich and famous, swiping diamonds and other precious jewellery.

Yet, he now eeply regrets the path he took, saying: "I went down that slippery road for 50 years of my life and I regret not having a career in a different world. I know I caused so much misery, and I regret that.
