COLUMBIA, Miss. (WDAM) - A man is behind bars after shooting at a Columbia Police Department patrol car on Sunday, according to Chief Adrien Fortenberry.

CPD officers responded to a report of vandalism on Old Foxworth Road in the city shortly after 5:30 p.m. In the area, officers were told that there were possible squatters at a neighboring property.

When officers went to investigate that call, a person escaping to the back of that residence observed a CPD patrol car. The suspect allegedly shot into the driver’s side window and door, striking it with buckshot from a 12-gauge shotgun.

No officers were injured in the shooting. According to officers, the gun was stolen from a nearby property.

The suspect was identified as Daniel Chiodini, 32, of St. Louis, Missouri. According to officers,
