HENDERSON, Ky (WEHT) - Part of Main Street in downtown Evansville will be closed for a few days.

Officials state the 200 block of Main Street is closed due to the need to install a new domestic and fire suppression water tap to a property in that area previously approved by the Board of Public Works.

Officials also state the closure is needed due to contractors having to dig through reinforced concrete.

The closure is expected to be in place through Friday.
