SPRING HILL, Fla. (WFLA) — The Hernando County Sheriff's Office said a Spring Hill neighborhood has been evacuated due to dangerous materials found at a home.

According to a social media post, a home on Topaz Street near Orton Avenue and Birchwood Road was found to contain "what appears to be a stick of dynamite and a hazardous material."

The Citrus County Sheriff's Office's bomb team and Hernando County Fire Rescue Hazmat are on the scene to remove the items from the home.

"Out of an abundance of caution, neighboring residents have been evacuated and roads have been shut down at this time," the Hernando County Sheriff's Office said. "No threats have been made - this is only for retrieval and disposal."
