The Boston Red Sox can't afford to lose one of their best bats to a trip on the injured list, and it appears they may have just dodged that bullet.

Wilyer Abreu left Sunday's game due to right calf tightness, which left the Red Sox concerned. However, their home run leader provided some much-needed affirmations after the game.

"It's a little bit tight," Abreu told Jen McCaffrey of The Athletic . "Right now, I'm day to day to see how I wake up (Monday). Hopefully be ready, take probably two or three days and be ready for New York."

The Red Sox have two games with the Baltimore Orioles on Monday and Tuesday along with a day off on Wednesday before the Yankees series. Abreu missing two games would certainly be the best-case scenario for Boston.
