Letter: Tornado volunteers were largely from within the BLM movement

The St Louis Junto lives. Lynn Schmidt's column " The tornado devastated Black neighborhoods. Where was the BLM organization? " (Aug. 17) is not only completely lacking in factual basis, it is also one of the most bad-faith arguments ever argued in this newspaper.

While volunteering since the tornados, the people I've seen beside me are mostly people I first met at various BLM protests. The organization which led the most effective immediate support to those affected was an explicitly pro-BLM organization.

Schmidt does nothing other than try to blame the protests for the problems in the city, ignoring the decades of bad decisions made by the little cliques to which she and most of the employees of this newspaper are still beholden. She just wants to distract from the obviousness that t
