PHOENIX – A man was struck and killed on an East Valley freeway Sunday night after he left his vehicle following a rollover collision, authorities said.

The initial collision occurred around 11 p.m. on the eastbound side of the Loop 202 Santan Freeway between Lindsay and Gilbert roads in Gilbert, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS).

One of the drivers got out his vehicle after the crash and entered the westbound lanes, where he was hit by a van and then other cars.

The victim, whose name was not released, was pronounced dead at the scene.
