TYLER, Texas (KLTV) - This year’s Alzheimer’s Association International Conference took place in Toronto, and East Texas Program Coordinator Emma Thorne says it offers a chance to find out what’s happening behind the scenes of current research.

Walk to End Alzheimer’s Manager Shannon Trest joined Thorne on East Texas Now. She said brain health has become a significant focus.

“Brain health is closely linked to heart health, too, so getting plenty of rest, eating nutritious foods, keeping the body moving -- not just exercise, but just movement,” Trest said. “And of course, keeping your brain activated.”
