Ian McKellen just dropped a major update about the upcoming Lord of the Rings movie, The Hunt for Gollum .

During a panel at London’s For the Love of Fantasy event on Sunday (August 17), the 85-year-old actor teased that both Gandalf and Frodo will appear in the Andy Serkis -directed film.

“I’ll tell you two secrets about the casting: there’s a character in the movie called Frodo, and there’s another character called Gandalf. Apart from that, my lips are sealed!” Ian said at the event.

While he didn’t confirm if he would be reprising his role as Gandalf or if Elijah Wood will return as Frodo, fans noted that Elijah was in attendance, along with fellow LOTR stars Sean Astin , Dominic Monaghan , Billy Boyd , and John Rhys-Davies .
