DERWOOD, Md. — A Derwood man and his roommate have been charged in Montgomery County, accused of killing the man's 81-year-old mother.

On Friday evening around 6:30 p.m., officers were called to the 18600 block of Muncaster Road for the report of a missing woman. The caller said Victoria Shay was missing from the home he shared with her son, 60-year-old Daniel Shay, and his roommate, 59-year-old Dwayne Anthony Embrey.

When officers arrived, they searched the home and found evidence of a potential crime. Daniel Shay told officers he had not seen his mom for four days and did not know where she was. Homicide detectives were called to investigate.

Through the course of the investigation, detectives learned that Victoria Shay’s body had been left in the area of Route 124 and Brink Road. Det
