A man killed his elderly mother and then got his roommate's help to dispose of her body in Derwood, Maryland, police said.

Montgomery County police officers went to a home on Muncaster Road Friday evening after someone called to report that 81-year-old Victoria Ellen Shay went missing.

Shay shared the home with her son, Daniel Paul Shay, and his roommate, 59-year-old Dwayne Anthony Embrey.

Officers searched the home and found evidence of a potential crime, police said.

When they asked Daniel Shay about his mother, he said he hadn't seen her in four days and didn't know where she was, according to police.

Detectives later found that Victoria Shay's body was left in the area of Route 124 and Brink Road, police said. A
