Arkville, N.Y. — An Upstate New York railroad that had been dormant since before the pandemic is back on track, just in time for fall foliage season.

The Delaware & Ulster Railroad , resumed operations in May under the Catskills Revitalization Corp. in partnership with its nonprofit owners. The historic locomotives and rail cars have been carrying passengers on scenic trips throughout the summer and are now gearing up for the peak leaf-peeping season.

The Delaware & Ulster runs on the former New York Central Catskill Mountain Branch. Established in 1983, the railroad maintains 19 miles of track between Highmount and Roxbury, though most excursions operate between Arkville and Roxbury. A separate stretch
