In a generational shift for one of Baltimore’s most influential organizations, the Abell Foundation has selected Fagan Harris, Gov. Wes Moore’s chief of staff, as its new president.
Harris, 38, succeeds the retiring Bob Embry, who served a parallel 38 years as president of the foundation, which has more than $300 million in assets and spends about $15 million supporting programs and funding research every year.
Harris will become only the foundation’s second president when he takes charge of it in January.
