President Donald Trump said on Monday that he wants to eliminate mail-in ballots and voting machines ahead of the 2026 midterm elections.
He said in a post on Truth Social that “watermark paper” would be faster and “leaves no doubt” about who won. He also called voting machines “highly inaccurate,” “very expensive” and “seriously controversial.”
He also said falsely that the United States is the only nation in the world that uses mail-in ballots.
Trump said he would “lead a movement” to get rid of mail ballots and voting machines. He also said he planned to sign an executive order to “help bring HONESTY to the 2026 Midterm Elections.”
