GILBERT, Minn. (Northern News Now) - Several Iron Range communities are mourning the loss of a first responder.
26-year-old Tia Muller of Chisholm was a firefighter with the Cherry Fire Department.
She passed away last week after being pinned under an ATV.
Authorities say it’s likely the crash happened overnight Thursday, but she wasn’t found until shortly after 10 Friday morning on the OHV Trail in Gilbert.
“At this time, we don’t have the words to say other than thank you and rest in peace. Tia (Tinker Bell), you will be truly missed. Our hearts as a department are hurting,” said the Cherry Fire Department on Facebook Sunday.
Authorities say her 25-year-old husband, Johnathan Muller, was driving the ATV and was also seriously hurt in the crash.
He was airlifted to a Duluth hospital
