TOWN OF LODI, Wis. (WKOW) — A motorcycle driver died Sunday after a crash involving an SUV on Lindsay Road, north of Highway 60 in Columbia County.
The crash was reported around 9 p.m.
The Columbia County Sheriff's Office said the motorcycle driver was found down an embankment with serious injuries. The driver of the motorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene by UW Med Flight doctors.
Alcohol is believed to have been a factor in the crash, the sheriff's office said.
Authorities found that the motorcycle was speeding south when it failed to go around a curve, crossed the center line, struck a guardrail and collided with the northbound SUV.
The SUV occupants were unharmed.
The identity of the deceased motorcyclist is withheld pending family notification.
