Joshua Sean Mulvey, 28, one of two people indicted in the 2023 death of a 7-year-old special-needs boy, was arrested Friday afternoon when he turned up at his father’s home following the man’s suicide.

Timothy Mulvey, 61, committed suicide while police were serving a warrant at his home in the 800 block of Colburn Street in South Toledo on Friday afternoon, officials said. Police confirmed they went to the home looking for his son, Joshua Mulvey.

Lucas County Coroner Dr. Thomas Blomquist said Timothy Mulvey died from a gunshot wound to the head.

His son had been indicted Thursday on a single county of involuntary manslaughter and one count of endangering children stemming from the June 2, 2023, death of Kristopher Snyder, 7, who was found dead in his home in the 1700 block of Freeman
