The Minnesota Vikings are defending their cheerleaders.
Blaize Shiek and Louie Conn are two members of the 35-person cheer team for the professional NFL team. Videos have been going viral of the squad performing, but some haters just had to share their opinions, too.
Now, the Vikings are making it clear that male cheerleaders have been part of professional cheerleading for a long time.
“While many fans may be seeing male cheerleaders for the first time at Vikings games, male cheerleaders have been part of previous Vikings teams and have long been associated with collegiate and professional cheerleading,” the team said in their statement.
The team also told NBC News that no fans have canceled season tickets.
