LAS VEGAS ( FOX5 ) — The man accused in a hit-and-run that sent a Nevada trooper to the hospital told investigators fleeing was “the right thing to do,” according to documents.

FOX5 obtained the arrest report for Mark Guyot, who is facing DUI charges related to the crash. According to Nevada State Police, on Tuesday night, he hit an occupied patrol car southbound on I-15 , north of the 215 beltway, and drove off. After crashing into the patrol car, police say he hit a nearby unoccupied tow truck.

The injured trooper was stopped in the area to respond to a crash in a construction zone, according to investigators. The arrest report says Guyot drove to the Silverton Casino, parked, and sat at a slot machine until casino security informed troopers.
