KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - Kansas City Chiefs defensive end Felix Anudike-Uzomah’s third season in the National Football League is likely over before it started.

On Monday, head coach Andy Reid told reporters the former K-State Wildcat, whom Kansas City selected in the first round of the 2023 NFL Draft, was likely to go on injured reserve due to a hamstring strain. Players who are placed on injured reserve prior to the 53-man roster cutdown are ruled out for the season.

Anudike-Uzomah, a Lee’s Summit native, suffered the injury during the fourth quarter of Friday night’s preseason game against the Seattle Seahawks.

During his first two seasons in the NFL, Anudike-Uzomah combined for 24 tackles, 3 sacks and 2 forced fumbles in 34 games.
