A proposal to build a new Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints facility in Langford is moving forward after receiving rezoning support from the city’s Sustainable Development Advisory Committee.

The plan, brought forward by Beedie (Langford Ridge) Holdings Ltd., would allow a place of worship to be built at 2750 Leigh Road, near the Trans-Canada Highway.

The proposed facility would sit on a 4.6-acre portion of the site and accomodate about 250 people.

The project’s design remains conceptual, but Beedie says the site was chosen for its central location and transportation connections, allowing easy access for members across Greater Victoria. • (Beedie) • (Beedie)

The property overlooks Langford Lake and sits near the intersection of Leigh Road and Highway 1.
