FLOYD COUNTY, Ky. (WSAZ) - More details have been released about a deadly officer-involved shooting that happened Monday morning on the property of a business in the Harold area of Floyd County.

Kentucky State Police identified the man who died as Henry Foster, 33, of Raven, Virginia.

Troopers said Foster threatened self-harm with a firearm and would not drop the gun, despite communications with law enforcement officers.

The incident was reported around 10 a.m. Monday near a Dollar General store.

Investigators said Foster was attempting to enter several vehicles and requested a ride from the location before the events leading up to the shooting.

Despite life-saving measures, he was pronounced dead at the scene after a trooper fired a shot.
