LENOIR COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) - Deputies say a speeding motorcyclist led them to the recovery of what they believe is crystal meth.
The Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office says that on Saturday, deputies tried to stop Toby Griffin, of Deep Run, on Gray Branch Church Road in Deep Run after he was clocked at 74 mph in a 55 mph zone.
Deputies say that Griffin drove several miles before pulling over.
During the stop, deputies say they found suspected crystal meth hidden inside a folded $5 bill in a wallet on the motorcycle. They say the motorcycle’s license plate was listed as lost/stolen.
Griffin was arrested and taken to the Lenoir County jail.
He’s been charged by deputies with felony possession of methamphetamine and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.
