TOWAOC, Colo. (KREX) - A man was arrested for the homicide of a woman earlier this month in Towaoc on the Ute Mountain Ute Indian Reservation.

Duran Wade Lang, 31, was charged with voluntary manslaughter and assault with a dangerous weapon in Indian Country. The counts could lead up to 25 years in prison.

According to the FBI, law enforcement responded to reports of shots fired on Aug. 12 before finding a deceased woman in a car near the intersection of North Ute Street and Chief Miller Street.

The affidavit stated Ute Mountain Ute Police arrived on the scene and found the woman, only identified as D.W., without a pulse and started performing CPR. Emergency Medical Services (EMS) personnel were dispatched and pronounced her dead.
