Two Stevensville residents are facing charges as part of an eight-month investigation into a fatal drug overdose.

The Southwest Enforcement Team says on January 28, officers with the Baroda Lake Township Police Department responded to a medical emergency at a home and found a 34-year-old man had died as a result of an overdose. Detectives from SWET then worked with local police throughout the following months and developed two suspects believed to be involved in the delivery of drugs to the deceased.

SWET says in March, prosecutors filed charges against 31-year-old Tia Bennett of Stevensville for delivery of a controlled substance resulting in death and several other drug-delivery offenses. Bennett has been arraigned through the 5th District Court, and her case is pending.
