On Monday at 3:13 p.m. a high surf advisory was issued by the National Weather Service valid from Tuesday 8 a.m. until Thursday 8 p.m. for Dukes and Nantucket counties.

The weather service adds, "Large breaking waves increasing each day, peaking Thursday with waves of 8 to 13 feet expected in the surf zone."

"Dangerous swimming and surfing conditions and localized beach erosion," states the weather service. "Inexperienced swimmers should remain out of the water due to dangerous surf conditions."

Advance Local Weather Alerts is a service provided by United Robots, which uses machine learning to compile the latest data from the National Weather Service.
