The Indiana Department of Environmental Management halted some construction work at the $11 billion Amazon data center under construction by New Carlisle, so it does not further infringe upon wetlands.

IDEM cited the e-commerce giant and its general contractor Walbridge Construction for impacting marshes on the property.

"Amazon was sent a non-compliance letter. As noted in the letter, the company self-reported the incident and was cited for impacting wetlands without authorization," IDEM Communications Director Allen Carter said.
