ONEIDA, N.Y. (WSYR) -- With nearly three weeks left until the first day of school for Oneida City School District students, many families are scrambling after receiving word that high schoolers will share Otto Shortell Middle School with middle schoolers.
The district plans to split up school days to accommodate all the children this upcoming school year. Amber Ross, a mother of four, now finds herself with a lot on her plate.
"I understand they had to come up with a solution," Ross said. "But this is not it."
Last year, Ross's tenth-grade daughter experienced anxiety and bullying to the point where she had to resort to online learning. Now she does not know how much more change she can endure.
"She does online," she said. "My concern is, how is this affecting her if she does it online
