LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Sitting outside of the newly Belonging, Access, and Engagement Center – or BAE – University of Louisville junior Nehemiah Davis is happy to see the place he calls a second home still here.

The center houses programs like the Center for Women and the LGBT Center.

Leondra Gully, who serves as executive director, said it is a place for all students.

“This space is open to any student regardless of identity, classification, regardless of where they live in the state,” she said.

The program’s fate seemed uncertain after the Kentucky House and Senate passed House Bill 4 last semester.
