LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The future of how Louisville leaders aim to address homelessness was on display Friday, opening the doors of its Community Care Campus near downtown.
Work is underway to renovate and repurpose existing buildings that will provide wrap around services for homeless residents representing multiple demographics, like single-mother families and homeless teens.
Matt Reed is standing in front of a building his organization will soon operate.
Reed is the executive director of YMCA Safe Place Services. “Will become a transitional housing unit for 18-to 24-year-olds who are unstably housed,” Reed said.
Louisville’s Community Care Campus is located off I-65 and Breckenridge Street and will be a collection of buildings—new and repurposed—offering wrap-around services to the city’
