BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — Homeowners in Bowling Green will see a slight break on their property tax bills.
The City of Bowling Green is reducing its property tax rate from .204% to .203%.
Meaning homeowners will save about $1 per $100,000 of assessed value.
Mayor Todd Alcott said, “We’re not here to hurt the community; we’re here to grow the community to the right size, the right way.”
The tax cut could cost the city thousands of dollars in revenue. But officials say they’ll still reach their $15.5 million property tax goal.
City Commissioner Carlos Bailey said, “I do believe it’s the right move to help people out. So, I’m glad that this was done again today, and I do believe that this won’t necessarily hurt us.”
