CLARIDON TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WJW) – Another fatal accident occurred Saturday at a dangerous intersection in Claridon Township.

The Ohio Department of Transportation said changes are coming in weeks that are aimed at saving lives.

Just after 9 a.m. Saturday, a two-car rollover crash with entrapment was reported at the intersection of Chardon Windsor Road and State Route 608.

Chardon Fire Chief Justin Geiss said one person was pronounced dead at the scene and two others were taken to Geauga Hospital with injuries. The crash is under investigation.

The intersection has seen numerous accidents over the past few years, several of them fatal.

ODOT said it is time to make a change.

“We have been working on putting up these four-way signs for the past month,” Public Information Officer Brent Kov
