An investigation was continuing Monday into the discovery of swastikas that were painted on a school fence in Tarzana.

The symbols were apparently painted Saturday night at Wilbur Elementary School in the 5200 block of Crebs Avenue, police said.

Los Angeles Unified School District board member Nick Melvoin said the graffiti “was swiftly removed” after it was discovered.

“I’m grateful for the prompt action, and want to reiterate that no form of hate — including anti-Jewish hate — is tolerated in our (schools),” he said.

Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass condemned the vandalism Monday.

“LAPD is investigating this incident as a hate crime,” Bass wrote on X. “Anti-Jewish hate will not be tolerated in our schools, nor in our city. We will work to hold those responsible accountable.”
