US President Donald Trump announced on Monday that he will pursue a movement to eradicate mail-in voting, resuming one of his main obsessions after losing the 2020 presidential election, a defeat he never conceded.
"I will lead a movement to end absentee voting, and while we're at it, end the 'inaccurate,' very expensive, and highly controversial voting machines that cost 10 times more than precise, sophisticated, watermarked paper that is faster and leaves no doubt (…) about who WON and who LOST the Election," Trump wrote in a lengthy post on his Truth Social platform.
The president announced that he will sign a decree to "help bring HONESTY to the midterm elections," the legislative elections of November 2026, without providing details about the text's content.
